You ever try to think of the perfect Earthday gift, (no, I don't mean Birthday) but you can't find the right one? I had this very problem just the other day.
As I surveyed my options for Earth Day, I thought about different rivers I could clean up or places I could plant a tree. However, the answer was closer than I imagined.
Throughout this past semester, one of my professors has shown up every week for class with the same styrofoam cup full of coffee. He's a psychologist by trade, and is very much a creature of habit, so I thought I'd introduce a new one.
So before class yesterday I stopped at the bookstore and bought him a mug. At the end of class, I proudly presented him with his new stainless beauty, which was met with a smile and thank you.
"No more styrofoam for me, I guess," he said.
Music to my ears. One mugful at a time, one person at a time, we are indeed making this world a better place for the next generation. Happy Earth Day!
