You ever try to think of the perfect Earthday gift, (no, I don't mean Birthday) but you can't find the right one? I had this very problem just the other day. As I surveyed my options for Earth Day, I thought about different rivers I could clean up…

I can hand some out at school! If you want to leave some at City Feed that morning, I can go pick them up on my way to Boston College! ~Heather

Hey Dan - I've been thinking - we should hand out lots of Mug Project Stickers to people we see on Earth Day. Does any one else want to help us do this?

Great news everybody - Earth Day is almost here! Now what? For an environmental crony like me, Earth Day is seminal moment - an opportunity to change the way our society thinks about the world we live in. How exciting! Now what the heck am I suppo…

Keep a cache of mugs in the car, Dan. I used to always forget to bring my cloth totes into the grocery store, and lots of times just said, f-it, I ain't going back to get the bags...until one day I DID go back. The exercise of taking the time to go…

Are you GREEN when no one's looking?

I was running some errands with my wife one afternoon not too long ago when I felt the urge for an iced coffee. Sure I’d already had one that day, but whatever, it was my day off! We located a Starbucks close by and pulled into the parking lot.

That's when I realize that I didn't bring my mug. What a miserable discovery! Ever since I helped start this Mug Project thing I'm constantly being reminded that I am a green role model for so many others. But what about when no one's looking?

As I cont… Continue

I am who I am - A Mug Person

A person has a lot of time to think when you're waiting in line for coffee. Being the coffee enthusiast that I am, I spend more time than most standing in these lines. More often than not I find myself scanning through the crowd. Not for movie stars or a cute girl, but for "mug people."

That's right, I said mug people! You know them - those brave pioneers who dare to wield their own reusable wand at the barista beyond the counter and save a paper cup from almost certain death.

Hey Dan- sorry it only took me a week to get back. We do offer people who bring in their mugs a discount. Usually we charge the price of a small or for espresso drinks because there is actually a cup diffference button we take 15 cents off. For Earth Day what we did was bring our coffee grinds, food waste, etc to the Community Garden and help compost. We do that throughout the summer when I do not have enough space at my place.

Jenna,

That's cool - thanks for bringing it up! I'm glad that your teachers feel that this is an important subject. You have this week off from school, huh? What are you going to do with yourself?

I don't know if I already told you this or not, but Katie and I will be in Vermont this coming weekend. Maybe I'll see you if you're around!

Hey Liz,

Sorry you can't make it. If you're up for it, we're encouraging people to give away a mug for Earth Day.
If this doesn't work out, stay tuned - lots of tree-hugging coming up in the near future...

Hey Dan,

Thought I could come on Saturday, but unfortunately something came up. Have fun though and I'll be at the next event. In the meantime, I've been talkin' up Mug Project (and carrying around my Nalegen)!!

Hope to see you soon.

Hey girl,

Thanks for the help spreading the word! I already saw a few of the new members - Sydney and Zeke. Hey, I hope you'll think about giving someone else (like a teacher!) a mug on Earth Day.

Katie and I will be home to Vermont the weekend of April 26th. Maybe I'll see you then!

Peace,
Dan
