I love my home soda maker! No plastic bottle waste!

I'm a seltzer drinker -- more interesting than regular water, none of the fake stuff (or high fructose corn syrup) of soda. But I do feel bad about the quantity of plastic bottles I have to recycle -- and lugging the stuff home from the supermarket is no picnic either. I saw a thing on some morning talk show about a home soda maker that does carbonating for you, so I checked it out at sodaclub.com, and received my delivery yesterday.

This thing is fantastic.

It's a simple contraption that doesn't require any electricity or batteries -- I assume the power is driven by the compressed gas cylinder. I can make seltzer with water from my Brita (or from the tap) any time. The company also offers various "soda" syrups and additions for those of you who prefer that kind of thing.

If you're curious about cost, I can tell you that I bought the basic machine thing (plastic, not stainless steel) and the seltzer "value" kit, with the machine, two carbonation cylinders, four bottles, and some flavoring freebies they threw in. The total cost, with tax and with free delivery, was $125.99. In my book, this is quite a deal, since I'm saving money, plastic waste, and back pain by not buying bottles at the grocery store.

Joe asked my to post about it, so here you go. Happy spring!
